Environmental Impact Assessment Proposed Development of Langezandt Quays, Struisbaai
Golden Falls Trading 193 (Pty) Ltd, the owners of Erf 848, Struisbaai, Western Cape propose to develop it. In terms of the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (Act 107 of 1998) (as amended) (the NEMA), the proposed development triggers a suite of activities, which require authorisation from the competent environmental authority, namely the Western Cape Provincial Department of Environmental Affairs and Development Planning (DEA&DP). DEA&DP’s decision regarding environmental authorisation would be based on the outcome of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process, required by the NEMA. Aurecon was appointed to undertake the EIA process required.
Current Project Phase
The final Environmental Impact Report (fEIR) has been compiled and has been made available at Struisbaai North Library, the Cape Agulhas Municipal Offices, Sandton Pulic Library and Cape Town Public Library from 5 May 2010 to 14 June 2010 , viz 40 days for your perusal and comment. Please note that this review period exceeds the requirements as stipulated in the National Environmental Management Act (No. 107 of 1998), as amended, which is 21 days. The fEIR is also available for download below.
