Pipeline for Reclaimed Water in Beaufort West
The Beaufort West Municipality intends to reclaim normally treated waste water from the Waste Water Treatment Works (WWTW) and polish it further with settling, filtration, ultra filtration and reverse-osmosis followed by chlorine disinfection. This polished water will then be piped to the existing Municipal Water Treatment Works (WTW) where it will be fed into the bulk supply system with treated water from the existing water sources. It is expected that the quality of the reclaimed water will be better than that of the existing bulk water supply, and will exceed all the required health standards.
All the activities will take place on town commonage, known as the remainder of Farm 185, Beaufort West, which is owned by the Beaufort West Municipality.
