Proposed Construction of a Link Road Between Main Road and Mountain Drive in Hermanus
The Overstrand Municipality proposes to construct a road and associated infrastructure, which will link Main Road and Mountain Drive, in the vicinity of Hermanus. The proposed road would be approximately 400 m long and 16 m wide (including the road reserve). Furthermore, a 1.8 m wide gravel sidewalk would be constructed, and extend along either side of the road. The proposed activity would also include the installation of approximately 95 m of stormwater pipelines and 140 m of open drains. The proposed stormwater pipelines would vary from 375 mm to 450 mm in diameter. In addition, the proposed activity would also include the construction of a stormwater headwall, a manholes and a number of catchpits.
Current Project Phase
The Final BAR has been made available to the public for a 21 day comment period. Copies of the report have been lodged at Hermanus Public Library and on the Aurecon South Africa (Pty) Ltd website (www.aurecongroup.com) (select South Africa, Public Participation link).
